He has an exceptional track record in helping nonprofits craft policies, establish robust operating procedures, and implement best practices, driving impactful improvements. Nationally acclaimed for his work with nonprofits and faith-based institutions, he has consistently demonstrated success in maximizing asset value through strategic real estate development.
Mr. Jordan’s commitment to advancing nonprofit excellence extends to academia, where he has served as an adjunct professor of nonprofit and municipal law at the University of the District of Columbia and as Scholar-in-Residence at Harris-Stowe State University. He frequently leads training sessions on nonprofit and foundation law and management. Licensed to practice law in Missouri, Illinois, the District of Columbia, and Virginia, he is also admitted to the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Jordan holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from Washington University in St. Louis and earned his Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University School of Law. He was also a Danforth Foundation Fellow at Harvard University.
Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Jordan has held numerous influential leadership roles. He served as Chair of the District of Columbia Board of Zoning Adjustment and Director of the D.C. Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs. Additionally, he chaired the District of Columbia Economic Development Taskforce and served on the District of Columbia Sports Commission. In St. Louis, he was the Mayor’s Chief of Staff, overseeing city operations, and chaired the St. Louis Development Corporation, driving real estate development throughout the city. He has also served as city attorney, prosecuting attorney, municipal court judge, and Special Attorney General to the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Mr. Jordan’s achievements have been widely celebrated. Ebony Magazine named him one of the 100 Most Influential African American Organizational Leaders in America. He is a recipient of the Martin Luther King Jr. Award for Outstanding Service to Humanity, the NAACP Award for Outstanding Service, and the African American of the Year Award by the Black Leadership Roundtable. Recognized for his service and leadership, Mr. Jordan has received over 21 community service awards and honorary keys to fifteen cities, including Birmingham, New York, and Dallas. He has also been named an honorary citizen of Louisiana, Kentucky, and Indiana.
