Applications open March 1, and closes at midnight May 31

The Advancing Futures Dental Scholarships are awarded to second-, third- or fourth-year students who are active members of the Student National Dental Association (SNDA). Eligible applicants must be in good academic standing, actively participate in both academic and extracurricular activities, and demonstrate outstanding character by exhibiting genuine concern for the well-being of classmates, patients and the broader community.

Eligibility Requirements and Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Demonstrated financial need.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status.
  • Be enrolled as a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year dental student in good academic standing at a U.S. dental school accredited by ADA/CODA.
  • Demonstrate meaningful community service and extra-curricular involvement.
  • Be an active SNDA member with proper documentation (local or national).
  • Scholarship awardees must submit:
    • A quotation and 30-second video expressing their appreciation within 30 days of notification.
    • This content may be used on the NDAF website and other publications.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit the following:

  • Official dental school transcript
  • Curriculum Vita (CV)
  • Professional photo
  • letter of request for consideration that summarizes notable graduate/professional school achievements (maximum 500 words) outlining financial need, academic achievements, community service, and the personal qualities and experiences that make you eligible for the scholarship.
  • A letter from SNDA national or local president stating your current membership status.
  • Two letters of recommendation.
    • One must be from the Dean or a Department Chair
    • One must be from SNDA Faculty Advisor, if none, Faculty Member
  • A completed Photo and Video Release Form
