Dental Assistant Scholarship
$750 Scholarship Award

Applications open March 1 and close midnight May 31

The Dental Assistant Scholarships are awarded to students enrolled in an accredited dental assisting program and that are active members of the National Dental Assistant Association (NDAA). Eligible applicants must be in good academic standing, actively participation in both academic and extracurricular activities, and demonstrate outstanding character by exhibiting genuine concern for the well-being of classmates, patients and the broader community.

Eligibility Requirements and Criteria
  • Demonstrated financial need.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status.
  • Must be a currently enrolled dental assisting student in good academic standing in an accredited program.
  • Evidence of community service and extra-curricular involvement.
  • Must be an active NDAA member with proper documentation (local or national).
  • Scholarship awardees must submit a quotation and 30-second video expressing their appreciation within 30 days of notification. This content may be used on the NDAF website
Application Requirements

Applicants must submit the following:

  • Official dental assistant program transcript
  • Curriculum Vita (CV)
  • Professional photo
  • A letter of request for consideration (no more than 500 words) outlining financial need, active involvement in NDAA and community service, and the personal qualities and experiences that make you eligible for the scholarship.
  • A letter from NDAA national or local president stating your current membership status.
  • Two letters of recommendation.
    • One must be from the Program Director.
    • One must be from a current NDHA member
    • Recommendations from family members, relatives, and students are not acceptable.
  • A completed Photo and Video Release Form
